Warsaw low cost in two days !!!

On this page we tell you about our beautiful trip to Warsaw. Taking advantage of a discount coupon Volagratis.com, we immediately booked a flight Lamezia Terme – Warsaw with the Wizz Air company for only € 20,00 round trip, great not?

We left at the end of November 2017, in Lamezia Terme there were about 22 degrees, in Warsaw instead there was snow … Let’s say that a little bit was what we wanted, because snow is known to make any city magical.

When we landed at Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin airport, we took the number 175 bus which took us to the Centrum 05 stop about 400 meters from the NWW Apartamenty apartment where we stayed. The price of the ticket, which can be done directly at the ticket machines at the airport, is equal to 36 złoty (about € 8.00) for 72 hours. The national currency is złoty (PLN) and is worth around 20-25 euro cents. In this city, it is not necessary to have cash because all the activities and even in the markets accept the credit card or the ATM. We chose to move around the city by bus, but the ticket also includes the metro and tram.

Złote Tarasy and Palace of Culture and Science.

This time we chose to stay in a comfortable apartment, beautiful view because it is on the fifteenth floor. The apartment is also located about 200 meters from the largest shopping center in the area, the Złote Tarasy, and a short walk from the Palace of Culture and Science, a large 237-meter-high structure donated to the city by Stalin in the 1950s and is It was the second tallest building in Europe for decades. The Palace of Culture and Science being visible from anywhere in the city can be used as a reference point. On the thirtieth floor there is a panoramic terrace, from where you can see all of Warsaw, but given the bad weather we decided not to go… The price for getting on the terrace, by elevators is 20 złoty (about 5.00 €). For information on prices and timetables visit the official website.

Blu’s Mural.

Our first day in Warsaw opens with a visit to the Blu’s Mural about 300 meters from the apartment. This is a large mural created by an Italian artist in 2010, where soldiers are depicted hanging on wires like marionettes.

National Museum.

Immediately after we went to the National Museum. It is the largest museum in Warsaw, inside there is ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman art, Polish painting and also foreign painting. During the Second World War much of the Polish cultural heritage was sacked by the Germans. There are different types of tickets, the cost of the basic ticket is 20 złoty, about € 5.00. Information on prices and timetables on the official website.

At about 150 meters is the Museum of Fryderyk Chopin, the famous Polish musician. Inside there are many objects, the pianos, the scores belonging to the musician; in several rooms, there are stations with headphones where you can listen to his songs.  The ticket price is about 22 zloty (about 5.00 €) and depending on the periods, on Sundays or Wednesdays admission is free. More information on timetables and prices on the official website.

Polin, Museum of the History of Polish Jews.

Next continuing in our itinerary, we went to the Polin, Museum of the History of Polish Jews. This museum is located in the area where during the Second World War there was the Jewish ghetto. In this museum the history of Polish Jews is told up to the present day, it also hosts an interactive multimedia exhibition on the same theme. Information and prices on official website.

Taking into account the cold temperatures present, we went to the mall to eat something and immediately after we retired to the apartment to warm up a bit.

Łazienki Park.

On the second day as a first stop we decided to go to the Łazienki Park. It is one of the largest parks in Warsaw, about 76 hectares. Inside there is the Palace on the water, several buildings, two temples, etc.

Stare Miasto.

Continuing, we decided to go to the ‘old city’ (Stare Miasto), passing by the President’s Palace and up to the Royal Castle.

Warsaw is also known for its Christmas markets, many of which are scattered throughout the city’s historic center.

We visited the one located in the area near the Royal Castle and the one in Market Place where there is the famous statue of the Siren, symbol of the city. Both markets deserve to be visited, beautiful are the many wooden houses where they are set up with thousands of Christmas objects and souvenirs of the city. We reiterate that almost everyone accepts credit cards.

Remaining in theme, a third Christmas market is located right at the entrance of the Złote Tarasy shopping center, also this very particular full of lights and games.

The next day, despite the many things to see in Warsaw, we stopped in the shopping center Złote Tarasy, primarily for very cold temperatures, and then because in the early afternoon we had the plane to return to Italy.
