Maldives: The dream vacation !!!

Here we are again here, this time to tell you about the JOURNEY. The first thing we did when we decided to get married? Well, we booked the honeymoon, of course.

Our dream and we think it’s everyone’s dream, The Maldives. We booked our trip in the best travel agency in Cosenza. We left Lamezia Terme and stopped in Dubai, after stopping for 3 days and visiting the city (See: Dubai: in three days !!!), we took the Emirates flight to Malè.

When we arrived at Malé airport, we met the alpitour managers, who accompanied us to the lounge waiting to take the internal flight of about 50 minutes to get to the Ifuru airport. Finally, to get to the island we took the fast boat, the trip lasted about 25 minutes.

Kudafushi resort & spa.

The resort is located in the Raa Atoll. We chose the Kudafushi resort & spa as it was born recently and as a result the coral reef is still almost intact, the reef completely surrounds the island. Unfortunately, massive and non-respectful tourism means that the beauties of these places are destroyed. In any case we have chosen very well because even on the seashore it was possible to admire the beauty of the barrier with all its wonderful colored fish.

Upon arrival, they welcomed us in a very warm way, they explained the rules of the place, the times of the restaurants and they accompanied us to our room. We booked a beach villa of “only” 92 square meters of beach front of course. Waiting for us inside the room dozens of geckos, but no fear with a little foresight in keeping the windows closed and the air conditioning turned on, will disappear. In the room we found the basket with fresh sparkling wine, and on the bed a beautiful dedication “happy honey moon”.

We were enchanted by the bathroom, semi-outdoor, with a Maldivian shower and a whirlpool bath, and always new single-use bathroom sets. Also present TV, safe and wifi connection. On the other hand, it is a five-star resort. We opted for an all-inclusive stay, we decided to enjoy it to the fullest.

Every day in the room, we were offered a plate of fresh fruit and the mini bar was always filled.

The island is very small, to visit it takes about 5 maximum 10 minutes, if you want to stop to admire the vegetation and the various animals of the place including iguanas, hermit crabs, lizards, transparent crabs and huge bats(flying foxes).

Our typical day.

We got up in the morning around 8.30-9 we went to the restaurant to have breakfast, every day there was an infinite variety of food that ranged from salty to dessert.Then we went to sunbathe in front of our villa where we had available deckchairs, the sun is very strong.

At about 13 we went for lunch always in the usual restaurant, now we had made acquaintance with the various employees of the place, very nice, some of them also speak Italian. We must recognize that they can cook pasta even better than us. Immediately after lunch we spent the afternoon in the pool facing the sea.

We love to walk so late every day we walked around the island and see the beautiful sunsets. However there are many activities to do, there is a gym, ping pong tables, rooms where you can play, perform water activities including snorkeling and scuba diving, canoeing, windsurfing and much more; also present the spa.

In the evening around 8.30pm we would go back to the restaurant for dinner, and then immediately to the nearby bar where a theme evening was organized each evening to entertain guests.

In our package we also included a snorkel outlet that Umberto did. It was a wonderful experience, the coral reef is something spectacular, it was like watching a documentary on TV.

We also took advantage of the spa and we tried a 50-minute couple massage, nothing to do with our massages, we came out of that really reborn spa. We wanted to do it again but the weather will seem strange but it flew us. Who says that on an island you get bored, well, we think he’s wrong.

Last day.

Unfortunately, beautiful things end soon, and we on the last day we wanted to make it last as long as possible. Could we leave without seeing the dawn of the Maldives? The answer is absolutely no. A truly magical moment, the sunrise is wonderful and the island that is slowly illuminated by the first rays of the sun becomes more and more magical. The last day was superb. The sea, the sun that illuminated the huge expanse of white sand, all wonderful. A dream? No, it was not a dream, but our dream vacation …
